Good Morning Self-Care Ninjas,
How are you? How is your weekend been if you are lucky to have one? And how is your self-care exploration going?
Mine is going rather well which surprises me a lot. Over the past few months I was able to develop an auspicious morning routine that sets me up for blogging really well. December was reserved for reviewing the old year and making plans for the new.
I’ve decided to move a feature from my Wordpress Blog called “Music Monday Care & Love” over to “Bee SelfCaring”. It just does not feel right to keep a feature that is about self-care on my blog about creativity, poetry and everything. However, I was also not quite happy with the name.
One of my self-care tools is what I call my “self-appreciation mug” (You can find out more about that if you sign up for my newsletter. You receive the download “"FREE Mini-Guide to Self-Care - THREE Easy Daily Habits for Better Wellbeing" where it is explained in more detail)
As this is one of the most important tools in my self-care exploration I wanted to add that to the name and also be a bit cheeky.
What was Music Monday Care & Love about?
It was a blog event in which I invited fellow bloggers to take time for self-care and connect it with music they love. For the last three months, we were working with Julia Cameron’s “The Artist’s Way” which was very inspiring.
I gave a summary of Julia Cameron’s book chapter by chapter and offered the tasks she sets her readers to recover their creativity. What has the creativity to do with self-care you might ask? Well, Julia Cameron’s recovery tasks have a lot to do with self-care. Allow yourself to do yourself good and you will be able to fulfil your dreams is the basic idea.
Creativity here does not necessarily mean doing art as in painting or writing. Any project that makes your heart sing like creating a garden, volunteering with animals or baking is creativity as you create something that makes you happy. That is what I consider self-care in a nutshell: Make yourself happy.
Every week I set a task to find a song or instrumental that added to the self-care. You could write a post about your self-care exploration and link that post back to the Music Monday Care & Love post and other participants could read your posts. More readers as an added bonus.
If you are curious you can find previous posts here.
What will Mindful Music Monday Mug be about?
It is basically the same set-up but I will emphasise more the importance of being mindful and having a good cuppa every day. No, it doesn’t need to be a cup of tea. Feel free to drink coffee, cocoa, water, juice whatever floats your boat. Just have it and enjoy my posts ;-). But the idea is also to share interesting beverage recipes to make your self-appreciation mug more interesting and celebratory.
This week's Mindful Music Monday Mug
We are not diving in fully yet. I have just introduced you to the concept so feel free to let it sink in and decide if this is something that supports your self-care. You also do not need to do the post on Monday’s. Do it on any day of the week. We will come and read anyway!!!
So feel free to have a cuppa of your favourite beverage and enjoy some music that relaxes you!

I am not a health professional. My posts describe my thoughts, my experiences and my conclusions about life, mental health and self-improvement. My described actions always go alongside therapy and do not substitute professional advice by a health professional be it a doctor, therapist or counsellor.
I invite you to try out self-care tools, however, if any of these make you feel uncomfortable please stop and do not go further ahead. Also, if any of the tools suggested bring up issues that need dealing with do not hesitate to reach out for professional help. To recognise when you need to stop and when to reach out for professional or any other help is one important part to learn when it comes to self-care.

Please stay a little longer and discover music and good news on The Bee Writes... at Wordpress. You are more into photography? Please find my photo posts for Wordless Wednesday on Bee Wordless... on Blogger. Thanks!
Just one more thing before you go: The hospital that is treating me for cancer is fundraising for a dedicated breast cancer unit which would allow same-day diagnosis and better premises for patients and staff.
Please, if you can spare a little money hop over to their Just Giving Page and give as little or much as you can. Or share the page on your social media. Your support means a lot to me! Thank you very much.
