Welcome to "Love Yourself Challenge" . We are informal here. No perfect presentation of ourselves but loving the way we are with all the frizzy hair, laughing lines around our eyes and the messy home too!
For the month of March “Bee SelfCaring” has an added bonus: I am taking part in a challenge called “Love Yourself” by Carol Anne from “Therapy Bits” in which she invites us to find something we love about ourselves every day. One heck of a challenge I would say. But maybe it’s not so difficult for you?
Here is what Carol Anne wrote on the first day of the challenge:
"List something, or more than one thing, you love about yourself, for the entire month of march!
Each day, we’ll make a daily post calling it love yourself challenge, and list what you love about yourself!"
Self-care and Loving yourself!
I believe that part of caring for ourselves is to develop healthy self-esteem especially if you live with a mental health problem. I often find it rather hard to find things that I like about myself so finding 31 of them is definitely a challenge.
And I am taking the challenge, Carol Anne! Thanks for hosting it!!!
Love Yourself Challenge Day 15-17
So I skipped two days. You can see how hard it is to find things I love about myself. Even Carol Anne has trouble getting back into it. But "It's not how many times you fall that matters but how many times you get back up that counts." as Grace Hatton and many others say and that is why I keep coming back.
There are so many blogs out there which show how the blogger "has achieved it all" and that teach you how to get there. I have read many and signed up for many newsletters that show me how to do it but I am getting tired of them. I am getting tired of feeling like a failure because I haven't "achieved it" yet.
I have also started to wonder if there are readers out there who are happy to go on the journey instead of being taught how to do it. The longer I have this blog the more I realise that there are a thousand ways of making one's life better but in the end they are all individual.
I would like to encourage my readers not to follow already trodden paths but developing their own path. Creating a path means to fall over rocks and branches and getting back up and keep going. So today I get back up and find three more things I like about myself.
15. I love it that I have self-published a poetry book even though I took it off sale again
Yes, many years ago I published some of my poetry via Blurb but I chose not to have an editor and I don't think that's a good idea. After reading it again I realised there were lots of mistakes in it and took it off. But it was worth a try.
16. I love it that I try to do things differently
Well, at least I try :-). Maybe it won't work but maybe this is exactly what the world needs right now besides love!
17. I love it that I can't seem to fit in
Ok, I don't always love it but it gives me a unique perspective on life and the universe and that can't be a bad thing.
It's the second half of the challenge and I am determined to finish it! Please wish me luck :-)
Would you like to join?
And what about you? Would you like to join? Don’t worry about being late: just jump in and share what you love about yourself! Feel free to do it here in the comments if you do not write a blog or don’t want to write a post about it.
Carol was busy with life so we connect this post with her day 4
May you have a wonderful Day,
remember what you love about yourself
and Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my Irish readers!
Please stay a little longer and discover music and good news on The Bee Writes... at Wordpress. You are more into photography? Please find my photo posts for Wordless Wednesday on Bee Wordless... on Blogger. Thanks!
Just one more thing before you go: The hospital that is treating me for cancer is fundraising for a dedicated breast cancer unit which would allow same-day diagnosis and better premises for patients and staff.
Please, if you can spare a little money hop over to their Just Giving Page and give as little or much as you can. Or share the page on your social media. Your support means a lot to me! Thank you very much.
