Hoie, hoe gaat het? Or "Hey, how are you?" in Dutch. I really want to know. And I really keep you in my prayers even though I do no know you. I pray for my readers but also humankind in general simply because we all need some support. Please do not look down on me if you aren't spiritual. Just consider me as someone who thinks of you and wishes you well.
Do you read more now that you might have more time? I say "might" because many of us still need to work outside of our homes. Then you probably do not have more time. Also, you might have to help your children with school from home, which is indeed time-consuming.
One of my strategies to get through cancer and the lock-down is to use it for things I usually have no time. Reading non-fiction books for self-improvement is one of them. When I was off work because of bad mental health, I was introduced to "Mindfulness - A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World." by my GP. It has helped me to develop ways to deal with anxiety and depression. I saw recently that they also have a book to deal with pain.
When I was diagnosed with cancer, I decided to work through this book to be able to deal with the side-effects of cancer treatment. What makes these books so compelling is, they are based on scientific research but combined with practical experiences by the authors. That is a powerful mix. If you struggle with your mental health, I can only suggest you try it out.
