Welcome to Mindful Music Monday Mug. We are informal here. No perfect presentation of ourselves but loving the way we are with all the frizzy hair, laughing lines around our eyes and the messy home too!
Hello, self-care ninja’s how are you doing? I hope life is treating you well and that neither winter nor summer is bothering you too much. It looks like the weather patterns become much more like in the film “The Day After Tomorrow” and it is scary at times.
Self-care is especially important when times are rough and too much is going on everywhere. So maybe tomorrow is the best time to start our “Share a Mindful Music Monday Mug” conversation over at Skype. You can join in with this link tomorrow at 1 pm GMT (that is London time ~ please find your time here)
The link will ask you if you want to open it in the Skype app but you can open it online too. You can either join as a guest or sign in with your Microsoft account. For now, we are going to have a written conversation but we’ll keep an open mind and see where it will lead us.
What else do you need? A cup of tea, coffee or any other of your favourite beverage, a song to share and a polite manner. If you join in on the web you can only share files from your laptop or computer but if you join with an account you can also share YouTube videos, searches and other files to make our conversation more interesting.
Tomorrow is going to be a trial run so I won’t offer a prompt or topic about which we can talk yet. I think it is important to get to know each other and just share what self-care means for us and if we feel like it: which achievement we want to celebrate.
There is already a song that I shared last week and a couple of comments by me just to try everything out. I can’t wait to meet you there and I will be ready with some information.
Mindful Music Monday Mug
This blog series is called "Mindful Music Monday Mug" and I am sharing a new recipe for something that tastes nice in a mug every week. Last week we had the recipe for a wonderful White Chocolate Mocha. Please have a look here for last weeks post and recipe link.
This week my mug recipe suggestion is for tea. If you like it spicy then this Chai Tea recipe from “Pies before Guys” will make you lick your lips and wanting more. Find the Almond Milk Chai Tea Latte here.
Mindfulness in February
We are also digging deeper into the knowledge of Mindfulness every Monday. To me, Mindfulness has been one tool that helps enormously to bring my emotions into perspective. It has taught me that emotions change continuously and what looks like a catastrophe one moment could be nothing the next day.
In February I am going to share a couple of more Mindfulness resources to set us up for experimentation in our self-care exploring. If you have a great book about Mindfulness or a page you regularly visit then please be so kind as to let us know.
Today I introduce you to “The Free Mindfulness Project” which offers a great introduction to what Mindfulness is but what is more important a list of free mindfulness resources. Those are downloads of mindfulness meditations and exercises that can help you in your daily practice. I have just discovered this page but will certainly explore it in the next week and let you know what I think.
There is also a page with app suggestions and with poetry so I think this is a brilliant open place to explore mindfulness. Please find The Free Mindfulness Project here.
This Week's Music
Last week I introduced you chakra clearing music on Mindful Music Monday Mug and this week we are entering the wardrobe ;-). No, not literally my dear fellow self-care ninjas. I have found Narnia music for my mindfulness practice and want to share it with you. Which music do you use for relaxation, meditation and mindfulness?

I am not a health professional. My posts describe my thoughts, my experiences and my conclusions about life, mental health and self-improvement. My described actions always go alongside therapy and do not substitute professional advice by a health professional be it a doctor, therapist or counsellor.
I invite you to try out self-care tools, however, if any of these make you feel uncomfortable please stop and do not go further ahead. Also, if any of the tools suggested bring up issues that need dealing with do not hesitate to reach out for professional help. To recognise when you need to stop and when to reach out for professional or any other help is one important part to learn when it comes to self-care.

Just one more thing before you go: The hospital that is treating me for cancer is fundraising for a dedicated breast cancer unit which would allow same-day diagnosis and better premises for patients and staff.
Please, if you can spare a little money hop over to their Just Giving Page and give as little or much as you can. Or share the page on your social media. Your support means a lot to me! Thank you very much.
