Welcome to "Love Yourself Challenge" . We are informal here. No perfect presentation of ourselves but loving the way we are with all the frizzy hair, laughing lines around our eyes and the messy home too!
For the month of March “Bee SelfCaring” has an added bonus: I am taking part in a challenge called “Love Yourself” by Carol Anne from “Therapy Bits” in which she invites us to find something we love about ourselves every day. One heck of a challenge I would say. But maybe it’s not so difficult for you?
Here is what Carol Anne wrote on the first day of the challenge:
"List something, or more than one thing, you love about yourself, for the entire month of march!
Each day, we’ll make a daily post calling it love yourself challenge, and list what you love about yourself!"
Self-care and Loving yourself!
I believe that part of caring for ourselves is to develop healthy self-esteem especially if you live with a mental health problem. I often find it rather hard to find things that I like about myself so finding 31 of them is definitely a challenge.
And I am taking the challenge, Carol Anne! Thanks for hosting it!!!
Love Yourself Challenge Day 14
It starts getting really tricky with finding things that I love about myself. So I sat a little at my little table and watched the clouds fly by:
And I wondered, if I really love this trait of myself and if I am really ready to share it with the world. Well, sometimes on a self-care and self-discovery journey you need to be courageous and just jump so I am going for it today:
I love about myself that I am intuitive and probably even an empath
I live with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome for many years which shows itself in depression and anxiety mainly. For many years, I had therapy and it helped a lot but two years ago I started to experience symptoms that just didn't quite fit. I am not going deeper into this but I left my job because of these and tried to get therapy again but could not.
So I had to deal with it on my own and I started to wonder if my latest problems had more to do with these abilities to sense other peoples feelings and take on their problems and energies. I have been reading up on it and it looks like I am right.
So now I am working on finding out how to protect myself and how to use this ability for the greater good. It's work in progress and I am not sure if I really love that trait quite yet but I am getting there.
